Kristen Wortman

Executive Director

Years of Service: 5

After spending my childhood growing up in Greenville, I attended the University of Maine, where I received my master's degree in social work with a concentration in gerontology. With a passion for assisting that population, I have worked as Executive Director of My Friend's Place, an adult day center in Bangor, securing funding, developing programming, and supporting volunteers. Prior to Pine Tree Hospice, I had spent the last seven years at Hibbard Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dover-Foxcroft, working with many of the same partners as Pine Tree Hospice, including local hospitals, medical hospices, and many other community partners.

Working at Pine Tree Hospice is an honor. This organization provides such a vital resource to this area, providing barrier-free services to those in great need.

Some of my favorite pastimes include boating on Moosehead Lake, going "up to camp" in the North Maine Woods, and ice fishing with my husband and chocolate Labrador, Ridge.

Cheryl Crabtree

Client and Family Services Coordinator

Years of Service: 5

I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Aroostook County, and I have always loved rural life and rural people.

I am a people person who loves meeting new people, helping those in need, and sharing stories. My favorite pastimes are sharing food and fellowship with my faith community, sewing clothes and quilts for others, and spending time at home with my husband and dog Buddy. I am a lifelong learner who began a master's in human relations when I turned sixty. This was a great season of my life, offering opportunities for life reflection and continued learning. My takeaway from those years of study was that human beings need to be heard, to have meaning and purpose, and to keep actively engaged in serving one another.

Life, for me, is a journey of creating stories to tell.

Sherri Jackins

Office Coordinator

Years of Service: 17

Born and raised in northern Maine, I became aware at a young age that looking after family members as they grew older was a way of life. Having this instilled in me meant that caring played a very important role in building a community of family, friends, and neighbors. I hope that I bring this level of caring and concern to everyone who calls our office, comes through our door, or that I meet in the communities that we serve.

I have a deep interest in theater and music. In addition to sewing for many in the area over the years, I have been a costumer for plays and musicals and have an appreciation for people's stories.

Pamela Pultz

Marketing Coordinator

Years of Service: 7

I came to Pine Tree Hospice after owning a business for 14 years. After spending some time at home, I wanted to do something that would benefit the community and give my life meaning. I was trained as a lawyer, and that is a great match for what I do at Pine Tree Hospice: write and work on marketing plans. I enjoy wordsmithing; so my job is perfect in so many ways!

My interests are primarily working in my stained-glass shop at my house, creating all sorts of bright and colorful windows and other glass objects. I have also trained and shown dogs in obedience and other sports as well as Conformation, and in 2022, I went to Westminster with my Parson Russell Terrier, where we won Select Dog in our breed. He is my trick and obedience dog, and we spend hours and hours together every day.
